This week on the tour the herd heads to San Antonio where they compete for a Texas prize, but many participants primarily have their sights set on getting to Augusta for the 2022 Masters Tournaments. Reigning champion Jordan Spieth is again in the field, along with several other past champions including Corey Connors, Andrew Landry, Charley Hoffman, Kevin Chappell, Brendan Steele and Jimmy Walker.
The course plays almost 7,500 yards, so look for players who drive the ball long and accurately. Yes, Spieth won last year, so you do not have to be the best driver to win the tournament, but it sure gives an advantage to the long ball hitters. Seems like the majority of books like Rory, followed behind Jordan to repeat. Some other players to keep an eye on are Corey Conners, Tony Finau, Hideki Matsuyama and Abraham Ancer.
Tony could use a win and it would be great to see Hideki put another notch on his belt before he comes into Augusta to defend his green jacket and we’ve got a handful of people talking Corey Conners is a lock, so we’ll all see how it plays out tmrw. Here’s’ a look at the top ten:
Rory McIlroy +750
Jordan Spieth +1400
Hideki Matsuyama +1400
Corey Conners +1800
Abraham Ancer +2200
Chris Kirk +2500
Si Woo Kim +2800
Bryson DeChambeau +2800
Gary Woodland +3000
Maverick McNealy +3500
