And we’re off. Day 1 of he 2021 Ryder Cup Tournament is underway. Today is Foursomes & Four Ball and the USA is up 3-1 after the morning tee time. Jordan and Justin we’re the only grouping that couldn’t close the deal. None of the morning sessions saw the 18th hole.
We’ve got some great groupings and matchups out on the course this afternoon also. At this very moment the USA is leading one match (DJ/Schaufflee) and tied for three matches. The wind is howling out at Whistling Straits and we’ve already seen a couple monster drives including DeChambeau who pumped it 417 yards off the tee box at the 5th and holed out for eagle. Him and Scottie seem to have a good vibe going against Rahm and Hatton. DJ and Schaufflee are the only team winning their match, but a lot can happen with three matches tied.
The one thing I think this year is missing for sure is the international presence from the fans. The pandemic has drastically curbed international travel and you get that vibe when watching the matches. Having attended several Ryder Cups over the years, it’s the most unique golf experience you can have and a full experience requires international fans. Nonetheless, we’re bias, and rooting for the USA, so well take it!
If you’re in the area and thinking about heading over to the course to see the action Saturday or Sunday, we”ve got some options you can pickup on-site. Call (205) MASTERS or check out the website!
