Tiger is back, the early 2017 PGA season and year’s first major.

As the year comes to a close, we look back at the last couple months and what an incredible cluster of stories to finish out 2016.  Rory McIlroy delivers a premium performance in the playoffs to take home the FedEx Cup and the $12M paycheck. (give or take a few hundred thousand) Dustin Johnson wins Player of the Year after winning his first major, the 2016 US Open at historic Oakmont CC.  The United States are Ryder Cup winners for only the 2nd time since 2000, captained by DLIII and lead by an unforgettable performance by superhero Patrick Reed.  And finally, Tiger Woods is back after over a year away from formal competition – oh, and he looks good….even really good at times!

What’s in store of 2017 remains to be seen, but you can bet that all the world’s top players have their sights set on Augusta, the year’s first major.  The season kicks off with a couple weeks in Hawaii, then there’s a west coast stint highlighted by the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, then the always fun Waste Management Open in Scottsdale at the beginning of February, followed by the Pebble Beach Pro-AM.  After a quick stop in Mexico City for the World Golf Championships, it’s Arnie’s invitational at Bay Hill, which will no doubt by a week/end to remember in Orlando after his passing this past September.  Then only the Shell Houston Open stands in the way of the boys teeing it up to compete for a green jacket.

2017 will mark the 81st annual tournament in Augusta.  Odds makers have the favorites at 8:1, that include Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth.  Tiger Woods is trending at 20:1 at most sports books, as well.  If these 4 are at the top of the leader board come Sunday, April 9th, 2017 …..you can bet all eyes will be watching!
